Minnesota Ice Dam Steaming Minneapolis MN

The build up of ice on your roof is not good and should be prevented at all costs! And steaming is the only safe way to remove the ice! Never allow anyone to use a hammer, chemicals or a hot water pressure washer on your roof because this will destroy your roof! If you have ice forming behind the gutters/facia or through the soffits or leaking down the siding we can deal directly with your insurance company to resolve this issue as cheap as possible for you! Insurance companies would rather pay us to remove the snow and ice than to pay for the costly interior repairs! They will deal directly with us because we can also fix any damaged or leaking areas so it won’t leak again. We take pictures of the leaks and show them to the insurance companies and they usually want to save money by removing the ice. So you will only pay the deductible! But we would not recommend waiting this long to remove the dams because by this time your roof has already been damaged. So please call or text us before you get a leak. Call or text: 612-919-4185

Ice dams will cut the life of your roof in half if not properly prevented! It is cheaper to prevent ice dams and to remove them than to replace your roof early. We can help you with this problem if you’ve had this problem in the past years, or if you are just seeing ice build up on your roof for the first time please give us a call and we can safely remove this ice and prevent it from accumulating for the rest of the winter. We use a commercial grade steamer to safely loosen the ice from your roof. No hammers/ No chemicals! We are fully insured for this exact service, we are very experienced and have great references.

The University of Minnesota Extension states:

Ice Dam Removal MN

“Ice dams can be prevented by controlling the heat loss from the home. There is a complex interaction among the amount of heat loss from a house, snow cover, and outside temperatures that leads to ice dam formation. The snow on a roof surface that is above 32 degrees °F will melt. As water flows down the roof it reaches the portion of the roof that is below 32 degrees °F and freezes. Voila!—an ice dam. So the water above backs up behind the ice dam and remains a liquid.

Immediate Action: Remove snow from the roof. This eliminates one of the ingredients necessary for the formation of an ice dam. A “roof rake” and push broom can be used to remove snow, but may damage the roofing materials.

WARNING! Any person on the roof during the winter or performing work on the roof from below is risking injury and risking damage to the roof and house. It is important to contact professionals to carry out this job.
